Cebu City, Philipines—Cebuano stars Shaina Magdayao and Manilyn Reynes were among the personalities who are saddened by the news of a fire that engulfed the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France last April 15, 2019.
“Woke up to this sad news,” Magdayao shared a news report on her Instagram story.

She then made a series of Instagram stories and recalled her past visits at the Notre Dame Cathedral.
The Kapamilya actress shared a photo with the cathedral as the background. The trip to Europe happened from October to November 2017 where her birthday celebration also happened.
Another photo she shared was taken inside the Notre Dame Cathedral.

“Our last Paris stop before heading to Italy,” she captioned the photo.
Magdayao also shared a recent photo of the popular cathedral which was taken last March 2019.
“And this was taken less than a month ago. From our show in Madrid, we flew to Paris for a few days,” she said.

Magdayao is currently with ABS-CBN. She is known for her roles in television series like “Asintado”, “The Better Half”, “The Story of Us”, and “Nathaniel.”
She is the sister of Cebuana singer Vina Morales, whose family is from Bogo City, Cebu.
Reynes also posted a photo of the cathedral on her Instagram account.
“Nakakalungkot. Watching it on TV, nakakaiyak,” she said.

The Kapuso star admits on her post that she regrets that she was not able to visit the cathedral when she had the chance.
“Can’t believe this na pinagpalit kita sa pamimili ng leather shoes in Paris. I am sorry. Dear Lord God, I know may mga plano ka po. This will strengthen our faith even more,” she said.
