Screening for Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu set this May

Cebu City, Philippines—The search for Cebu’s first representative for Ginoong Pilipinas 2019 will start this May.

Dexter Alazas, the provincial director for Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu confirmed to Cebu Daily News Digital that provincial screenings are slated on May 5, 12, 19, and 26.

“There will be four advocacies in the competition including sustainable tourism, social enterprise, health and wellness, and heroism,” he said.

The venue for the screenings will be announced soon but Alazas confirmed that only 24 Cebuano gentlemen will be part in the provincial competition.

The competition is open to Cebuanos or those who have mixed Bisaya race with Filipino citizenship. Applicants should be between 18 to 27 years old and single.

The Ginoong Pilipinas-Cebu 2019 will run from June to September.

Pre-pageant activities include swimwear competition and talent competition.

Since the competition also takes centerstage on heroism, there will be segments in the grand finals where finalists will wear post-modern casual costume, a Lapu-Lapu inspired bahag (a loincloth in the Philippines), and Barong Bisaya designed by Alazas.

The grand winner in the provincial competition will be named Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu Hero 2019.

His runners up will be named Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu  – North 2019, Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu  – South 2019, Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu – East 2019, and Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu  – West 2019.

After Cebu, the Ginoong Pilipinas Cebu Hero 2019 titleholder will compete for the Ginoong Pilipinas 2019.

Winners in the national pageant will have titles like Ginoong Pilipinas – Universe, Ginoong Pilipinas – Gentleman of the World, Ginoong Pilipinas – Man of the Year, and Ginoong Pilipinas – Imperial Universe who will represent the country in respective international stints. /bmjo
