9th Hunat Sugbu Run launched; Registration starts Thursday

Cebu City, Philippines—The ninth staging of the Hunat Sugbu: Dagan Para ni Maning is opening its registration on Thursday at the Cebu Parklane International Hotel lobby.
This was announced during the event’s press launch on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the Cebu Parklane. The Hunat Sugbu will be on June 23, 2019, at the The Terraces at the Ayala Center Cebu.
Gracing the press conference were Hunat Sugbu chairman, Nicanor Nacorda, Cebu Parklane general manager, Cenelyn Manguilimotan and race director, Joel Baring.
The distances in this commemorative run organized for Cebu Parklane International Hotel’s late president Manuel G. Ting are 21K, 12K, 6K and 3K.
According to Baring, the race route will be similar to that of the seventh staging of the race.
Manguilimotan meanwhile, encouraged participating runners to be more environmentally conscious.
“We are really going to be encouraging runners to use their own bottles to promote environmental awareness. We don’t want leave anything else behind other than dust,” said Parklane’s top official.
Nacorda added that they are targeting to attract a maximum of 2,200 runners. The reason they are putting a limit on the number of participants is to ensure that the quality of the run remains above the standard.
Registration fee has been pegged at P400 for the 3K, P500 for the 6K, P750 for the 12K and P900 for the 21K. Aside from the singlet, runners participating in the 12K and 21K distances will be getting timing chips.
Interested runners may register at the lobby of the Parklane starting at 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. They may also register at the SM City Cebu on May 27 until June 9 and at the Ayala Center Cebu on June 10 until the 21st. /bmjo
