Cebu City, Philippines—Team Japeth/Adarna A rallied from an early deficit to take down Team Slaughter/San Remegio, 21-14, and win the Cebu title of the Ginebra 3×3 Tapang ng Tatluhan on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Barangay Tinago Sports Complex.

Adarna-A, composed of former Asian College standout Vernon Anfone and ex-Cesafi aces Mark Panerio, James Ferraren and Fritz Dajalos, found itself trailing, 1-6, after a flurry of points from San Remigio’s own Cesafi studs Janjan Auditor and Floyd Taboada.

However, the veteran squad did not blink and grabbed the lead, 13-12, thanks to seven straight points scored by Ferraren.

It was all Adarna-A from that point onwards as they scored the next eight points, including two straight buckets from Anfone that sealed the win and the championship for them.

Ferraren ended up with 10 points while Panerio put up six to lead the way for Adarna-A.

The team pocketed the cash prize of P20,000 and earned the right to represent Cebu in the national finals on July 5-7, 2019 at the Robinson’s Place Manila.

Adarna-A beat the Caperal/J.Montesclaros squad, 20-16, to earn a ticket to the championship round while San Remigio put down R. Aguilar/Adarna-B, 21-19, in their own semis match-up. /bmjo
