CEBU CITY, Philippines— Get your rain gear ready as isolated rains will prevail in some areas in Cebu province on today, May 9, 2019.
Vhan Singson, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) station in Mactan, said the localized thunderstorms may last up to two hours.
In Mandaue City, the local election office staff and police personnel who were en route to deliver vote counting machines to the different voting centers had to brave the rain that started shortly before 10 a.m.
Singson said the rain showers may recur in different periods within the day.
Aside from the metro, Singson added that towns in the southern and midwest sections of the province experience the isolated light rains.
Despite this, Singson said a generally warm day with temperatures ranging between 26 to 36 degrees Celsius will still be experienced in the day. She added that the heat index today may reach up to 44 degrees Celsius. /bmjo
