Fire Chief Inspector Noel Ababon, head of Cebu City’s Fire Department, said that the fire that broke at 4:18 a.m. burned at least 50 homes. It was placed under control at 5:15 a.m.

Damage to properties was pegged at P900,000.

Ababon said they are yet to determine the cause of the fire which was believed to have started at the residence of Edna Basilliote and her live-in-partner Jason Herciso. Edna is the sister of Eddie Basilliote who was earlier arrested by Talamban police for drugs possession.

“Gi safe keeping na sa police kay duha kay gi kulata na man sa mga silingan,” Ababon said.
