6 ways to show Mom that you care

Not all superheroes wear capes.

Sometimes they hide under the name “Mommy.”

Mother’s Day gives us the opportunity to show all our moms how much we appreciate them. We could think of hundreds of ways to show Mom that you care, but here are 6 of them:

  • Pay Attention. The first step in communicating well is to listen well. It’s the simplest way to show your Mom you actually care. Take note of her likes and dislikes. Not only will she feel important but you will also be able to get to know her on a deeper level.

  • Give little gifts of affection. After paying attention to her, you probably have an idea of what she’s interested in. Show her you care about her by giving her that book she always wanted or cook her favorite dish once in a while. Just something small that shows her that you think of her.

  • Go out and spend an entire day with her. This Mother’s Day, get Mpm something that doesn’t need to be wrapped. Instead, treat her to an experience that you can both share and treasure forever. You don’t have to spend a huge amount of money on your day out, but you can be sure it’ll be one of the most memorable gifts she gets. Make an itinerary of fun activities, list up restaurants you’ve never tried before, and spots you still haven’t check out. It’s a fun memory to look back in the future and who better to share it with than the one who brought out in this world.

  • Offer to help with the cleaning. Do a cleaning household chore without being asked. Imagine having to juggle many tasks including caring for your family. This is what many mothers deal with on a daily basis. If your hard-working mother has lots to do around the house, why not make her life easier and help her out? Always try your best to keep your mother happy. It’s easy to take you Mom for granted, but fight that habit. Try to let her know how much you appreciate her, and help her out whenever you can.

  • Watch her favorite film/TV programs. Be receptive to your Mom’s interests. One of the simple joys in life is to just stay at home, watch television and enjoy each other’s company. You now have a bond of talking about fictional characters about her favorite TV show, which the two of you can discuss over chocolate chip cookies or potato chips.

  • Share your struggles. It’s always a good idea to open up to your Mom about what you’re going through in life. If you want to get closer to your mother, consider letting her know more about what’s going on in your world. This benefits the both of you because this makes her feel like she’s worthy of your trust and you can always have a shoulder to lean on when the going gets tough.

It’s not hard to make your mother feel special. There are a lot of simple and thoughtful ways you can do to make her happy and let her know she means the world to you. / celr
