Cebu City, Philippines—Batch 2015 has knotted the 2019 SHAABAA Summer League Bad Boys Wingz Cup finals series up at 1-1 with a dominant 71-51 win over Batch 2000 in Game Two on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Magis Eagles Arena.
2015 took over in the fourth with a searing 13-0 blast that took a close 48-45 lead and turned it into a huge 61-45 advantage with 4:32 left in the game.
Steven Co, Daniel Mayol and Adrison Gaviola presided over that telling stretch that helped 2015 turn things around and send this best-of-three championship showdown to a deciding Game Three on Friday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m.
Mayol and Anton Chua came off the bench to provide 2015 a nice lift as the former had 17 points and seven rebounds while the latter put up 14 markers, five boards and four assists.
Gaviola, meanwhile, had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Joevince Canizares was the lone bright spot for 2000 as he had 22 points and 16 rebounds. Nobody else scored in double-figures as the team shot a ghastly 24% from the field.
Meanwhile, 2003 claimed third place honors with an 86-78 over 2013.
Daryle Tan led the way for 2003 with 27 points and 17 rebounds while Moncrief Rogado flirted with a triple-double with his 25 points, 10 boards and nine assists. Jan Jaca also put up 21 markers. /bmjo
