Teams in brawl disqualified, players suspended
The CFA cracked down on the players and coaches that participated the free-for-all during an under-18 game between Sacred Heart School-Ateneo and Alcoy FC in the Aboitiz Cup last Sunday.
The two teams were disqualified from the tournament.
In addition, for having “miserably failed to meet the standards that were expected of them as coaches” Ateneo de Cebu’s Hayato Ayabe and Alcoy’s Chris delos Santos were suspended for six months.
Likewise, five players from Alcoy and four from Ateneo de Cebu were given six-month suspensions for their roles in the melee.
