CEBU CITY, Philippines — “Kausa Diha’y Babaye” is coming back.

This was confirmed by Lou Arnejo, the production manager of IL Signore Theater Company 2021 that this  would be staged again on August 27 and 28 at the Marcelo Fernan Press Center in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

It will be restaged because of the overwhelming support they received when it was first staged on June 30, 2019 at the Waterfront Hotel Cebu City and Casino.

“The audience were moved when we first staged this play. Some cried, laughed and lessons were learned,” she told CDN Digital.

“Kausa Diha’y Babae” is a collection of five one-act plays written and directed by Msgr. Agustin Ancajas.

The play gives general importance to the various roles of women in the family and the society.

“The story sends a message how women sacrifice a lot of things for their family and how faith and God’s grace work for them,” she added.

The play also aims to raise public awareness on how society affects the cognitive and physiological well-being of women.

They also want the audience to appreciate women as epitome of resilience and strength as she faces different challenges every day.

The collective titles of the play are “Katapusang Pagbalik,” “Dolores,” “Todos Los Santos,” “Lukas,” and “Paghurnal sa Panahon sa Tingpugas.”

These will be headlined by Roden Ugang and Rhodamie Chan for “Katapusang Pagbalik;” Placida Ballan for “Dolores;” Vivian Beltran Veloso,  Andrew Lazarte, Placida Ballan and Myca Angela C. Allawan for “Todos Los Santos;” Cherie Lou Solon,  Armi Perez and Lawyer Karen D. Quiñanola-Gonzales for “Lukas.”

Another reason for its restaging this year is the birthday celebration of Monsignor Ancajas on August 28, 2019.

Monsignor Ancajas is the founder of IL Signore Theater Company 2021. He is known for directing plays like “Melchizedek” (2018), “Mga Dula sa Pagtoo” (2016), and “Laptop: Usa Ka Dula” (2012). /dbs
