CEBU CITY, Philippines—Andra Day’s famous hit, Rise Up, has been covered by a lot of singers here and abroad.

It has been sung in shows, competitions, malls, hotel lobbies, gyms, videoke bars, inside vehicles, or even in the shower by wannabe singers.

Well, here’s one sang inside the classroom by a student from Cebu. And a video of her rendition is impressing a lot of netizens.

Watch it here:

The girl in the video is Nayela Breigh Noquiao, a student of the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue  (UCLM) campus.

Ralph Francis C. Ampoon, 22, also a student of UCLM, was the one who took the video and posted it on his Facebook account last September 3, 2019.

As of Monday, October 1, 2019, it has since been viewed 34, 437 times.

Ampoon told CDN Digital through Facebook messenger that Noquiao was practicing for a singing competition for their Intramurals.

“We were in the speech laboratory to practice. While taking a video, I felt goosebumps because her voice is so amazing and angelic,” said Ralph.

Noquiao eventually finished third place during the competition.

“I believe that this girl has potential in singing. She deserves to join national singing competitions,” he said.

Well, with the way the video is performing on social media, that might just happed soon. /bmjo
