The Philippine’s weather bureau has downgraded tropical storm Domeng to tropical depression, Monday afternoon.

At 4 p.m. today, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Domeng was located 670 kilometers east of Davao City with 55 kilometers sustained wind as it travels west northwest at a speed of 13 kilometers per hour.

The recent development has also reduced the level of possible storm surge in areas where it was previously hoisted.

At 12 nn today, they warned several areas mostly in Visayas of possible storm surge that would reach as high as 2.10 meters combined with the height of the sea level. However when Pagasa downgraded Domeng to tropical depression, Project NOAH’s storm surge model was reduced with the highest predicted storm surge at 0.63 meter.
