A 26-YEAR-OLD woman died two days after she was allegedly mauled by her husband in their home in barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.

Jovelyn Ancero was found by her younger sister lifeless on a bed in her room last Thursday morning.

Malen Sinangote called the police to seek help.

Ancero was already dead when paramedics and police arrived.

Sinangote said she tried looking for the victim’s husband Arnel but couldn’t locate him.

PO3 Heracleo Gamboa of the Basak Police Station said they went to the man’s hometown in Bogo City but they also failed to find him there.

According to Sinangote, the couple had an argument last Tuesday when the wife asked her husband to come home to watch over their one-year-old baby.

Sinangote, who lives with the couple, said the argument turned for the worse when the husband mauled his wife.

Arnel left home after the incident.

Police said the severe beating that the woman suffered may have caused her death.

Police said a charge for parricide will be filed against Arnel.
