Unconditional work on Guadalupe Parish Center

“It is a sense of gratitude to God.”

Archt. Charles Gosingko, proprietor of Charlz Construction explains why his construction company proceeded with the parish center project of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe de Cebu even if the parish has not given him any single centavo as seed money.

Charles who was raised from a “religious” family in Cebu took the project in August, 2011 without waiting for the Parish Priest Msgr. Jose Montecillo, to hand him any amount. This developed amidst the comments of skeptics that it cannot take off because of the lack or no money at all.
But the project proceeded after the old building in the same area was demolished.

The P17 million two-storey project located at the church ground will house the priests and visitors’ quarter in the second floor and the offices in the ground floor for the mandated parish organizations and the roof top as activity center. It has a total area of 1,800 sq. meters.

The parish located in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City enshrines the “Our Lady of Guadalupe de Cebu”, the patron saint of Cebu.

Montecillo in conceptualizing the project said it is high time for the parish to have a more decent and convenient facility.
Charles, single, attributes to God what he is now including the blessings that he and his family received.

“This is one way of showing my gratitude to Him,” he said, adding he believes that the miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will intercede.

The contractor who graduated from Cebu Institute of Technology has to struggle hard to be able to put up his company and handle big projects in Cebu and Mindanao area.
