From two grad rites, TCC now opens two enrolment desks

THE leadership dispute at Talisay City College continues.

After holding two graduation ceremonies, two separate enrollment desks have been set up in campus by the camps of Ritchel Bacaltos and Dr. Paulus Cañete who both claim the presidency of the city-owned college.

The TCC Board of Trustees recognizes Bacaltos while Cañete is being backed by Talisay City Mayor Johnny V. delos Reyes, who sits as ex-officio chairman of the college.

Bacaltos said he is worried that freshmen students would get confused on where to sign up.
Bacaltos had filed a petition for permanent injunction against Delos Reyes and Cañete.

“Kining nahitabo karon makahimu ug kalibog sa mga estudyante especially the (What is happening now will confuse the students especially the) freshmen students,” Bacaltos said.

Cañete’s enrollment desk is stationed at the school entrance while Bacaltos’ is located on the second floor.

So far, there are close to 800 freshmen students listed under the Bacaltos desk. They are scheduled to take an entrance examination next week. Cañete’s however, listed 500 students.

Bacaltos said the mayor should direct Cañete to respect the decision of the Board of Trustees affirming his appointment as college presidentt.

Bacaltos, a former city administrator who was appointed to the post by Councilor Socrates Fernandez during his term as city mayor, said delos Reyes and Cañete should observe the status quo. “The school records of the students are in my custody, which means that I am the rightful custodian of such documents,” Bacaltos said.
