Man just released from jail shot dead in Consolacion
CONSOLACION, Cebu—A man just released from jail died on the spot after he was shot by a still unidentified person shortly before midnight on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, in Barangay Pulopogan here.
The victim was identified by police as Ritchel Alarde, a.k.a. “Joaquin”, of legal age, and a resident of the place where he was gunned down.
Police Corporal Cresenciano Saladaga, investigator-on-the-case, said the victim was just standing along the roadside when he was shot.
Nearby residents heard a burst of gunfire and upon checking, they saw a man lying on the ground.
They immediately called police for help but when they arrived together with paramedics, the man was no longer responding.
Police recovered five spent shells of .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene.
Saladaga learned from the neighbors of the victim that he was just released from jail early this year for a drug case.
Police are currently conducting further investigation to determine the motive of the incident and the possible identity of the assailant. /bmjo
