Fil-Ann Enterprises, Gaisano Capital win

Batch 1980S/90S-B/Fil-Ann Enterprises and defending champion Batch 1995/Gaisano Capital Group chalked up contrasting wins Thursday night in the 2014 Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 13th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.

Batch ’80s/90s-B went through the wringer before completing a 60-58 win over Batch 2005/PTT Fuels & Lubricants, while Batch ’95 had an easy time dispatching Batch 2000, 91-78.

Chester Go scored 14 points, Edison Ong and Peter dela Torre chipped in 12 and 11 as Batch ’80s/90s-B secured its sixth win in 11 games to stay at sixth spot in the team standings.

Batch 2005, which dropped to 5-6 (win-loss), was led by Philip Lua’s game-high 23 markers, while Bryan Chua added 11.

Donald Ting, on the other hand, erupted for 29 points, while Dean Dy Teves scattered 23 as the duo led the defending champions’ seventh win in 12 outings.

Raymond Gollon had 15 markers, while JJ Arjona added 10 for Batch ’95, which firmed up its hold of fifth spot.

Richard Cua Ho unloaded 25 points and Bryan Lo had 24 for Batch 2000, which slumped to 1-11. Michael Tan and Oliver Boltron contributed 13 and 10.
