A SON of a lawyer was tagged as a suspect in the killing of a 55-year-old man in barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
Police said personal grudges could be the motive when Rosalito Belciña Amazona, 53, fatally shot Elias Emmanuel Yap around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The suspect is reportedly the son of lawyer Amando “Boy” Amazona, said PO3 Nelson Saquibal.
Saquibal said the victim was standing in front of a vulcanizing shop when Rosalito arrived and without a word repeatedly shot the victim.
After the attack, the suspect flagged down a south-bound bus. A hot-pursuit operation was made but police failed to locate the suspect.
The victim died on the spot due to gunshot wounds in the head, right armpit and right arm.
Police said the two reportedly had a heated argument during a cockfighting a few days ago.
Two empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol were recovered in the crime scene.
