A former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) takes hostage his wife and two daughters at their residence in sitio Igtik, barangay Tinaan, Naga City in southern Cebu.

The suspect, identified as Veroni Bacon, was allegedly high on drugs when he took hostage his 43-year-old wife and two daughters aged 22 around 6 a.m. earlier today. A barangay official, who was at the scene, heard the wife screaming for help, saying “Shoot him, we’ve been taken hostage” referring to Bacon, who was armed with a 357 revolver.

As of press time today, Bacon is planning to surrender to the Naga police after 10 hours of negotiation. Bacon threw his gun out of the window to signal surrender. /UP Tacloban Intern Le-anan Lai Lacaba
