THE operations of a coal mining company in barangay Dungga, Danao City remains suspended more than four months after a tunnel collapse killed one of its miners.

The Ski Energy Resources Incorporated (Seri), has yet to submit their revised “work program” before they can resume operations, said Regional Director Antonio Labios of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The revised ‘work program’ includes the precautionary measures, repair and maintenance of the area.

“If they would submit their work program then we will check if they have really applied this one in the field,” Labios said.

He said that they were not giving Seri a deadline on when to submit their work program.

“It really depends on them if they want to resume their operations then they need to work hard,” Labios explained.
