CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) will be helping the Bureau of Fire Protection in Central Visayas (BFP-7) in its fire-prevention campaign.

Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of CCPO, said that they will lend BFP-7 a hand in disseminating campaign materials, especially its hotline numbers, in all areas in the city.

“We asked mga infographic materials sa Bureau of Fire para ang atoang kapulisan nga mag conduct og recorida everyday mao say muhatag sa ilahang mga infographic materials. “ Parilla said.

(We asked for the infographic materials from the Bureau of Fire so our policemen who will conduct our daily recorida, they will be able to also circulate their infographic materials,)

Parilla said they will do this for the entire month-long celebration of Fire Prevention Month to support BFP’s awareness campaign not only on fire safety tips but also on its call to be responsive.

Apart from distributing BFP’s campaign materials, CCPO also asked BFP-7 personnel to take part in their monthly talk with citizens and barangay officials to give them means to reach the grassroots.

“We have a monthly dialogue with the community together with barangay officials. So we told  BFP that if they have speakers who could talk about fire prevention, they could speak there.”
