Babag National High School in Lapu-Lapu City won this years’ cheerdance contest, edging out last year’s champion and seven other contestants from public high schools in Lapu-Lapu.
They took home the P10,000-prize.
The cheerdance contest gave color and life at the tip of barangay Punta Engaño where several loops were made to complete the 21-kilometer run.
Around 200 vintas with colorful sails were spread along the swimming route which started at the seawaters off the Shangri-la Mactan Resort.
People on the bancas also cheered the swimmers.
