CEBU CITY, Philippines — Filipino boxer Mark “Machete” Bernaldez and his opponent Juan Kantun of Mexico are locked and loaded for their non-title duel in tomorrow’s (Saturday, July 10, 2021) “Got Talent XIII” fight card at the Airport Hilton Hotel in Miami, Florida.

Bernaldez and Kantun passed the official weigh-in today at the fight’s official venue. Bernaldez tipped the weighing scales at 129.8-pounds while Kantun weighed in at 131.6lbs.

The event is being presented by M&R Boxing Promotions.

The former ALA Boxing Gym standout who now fights under Sanman Boxing Gym’s banner will put his record of 22 wins, four defeats, and 16 knockouts at stake against the Mexican boxer who is five years his senior.

Kantun, 33, has a record of 21-11-3 (win-loss-draw) with 15 knockouts and has not won a single fight since 2013. His most previous win was against fellow Mexican Faustino Cupul via unanimous decision.

The 27-year old Bernaldez of Butuan City, meanwhile, has won his last two fights since last year against Mexican Hector Ruben Ambriz Suarez and Argentinian Julian Evaristo Aristule all by technical knockouts.

Bernaldez will be accompanied by his Cuban trainer Osmiri “El Moro” Fernandez at his corner in this crucial fight.     /rcg
