CEBU CITY, Philippines—Chooks-to-Go has once again upped the stakes in the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup after dangling P1 million cash prize to the inaugural champion.

Game one of the best-of-five finals series between Visayas leg champions KCS Computer Specialists-Mandaue City and the Mindanao leg champion Jumbo-Plastic Basilan Peace Riders is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Pagadian City gymnasium in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas big boss and well-known sports patron Ronald Mascariñas announced this development via a press release from the VisMin Cup media bureau.

The runner-up of the grand finals won’t go home empty handed as they will get P500,000.

Game two will be played on Thursday and, if necessary, the decider will happen on Friday.

“After some delays due to the ongoing pandemic, we have finally reached the Southern Finals. To reward the sacrifices of the teams and the players, we beefed up the prize money,” said Mascariñas in the press release.

“Personally, I have been waiting for this game as the league has brought out the best in the Visayas and Mindanao regions,” added Mascariñas, a native of Butuan City.

“We are happy with this partnership with Chooks-to-Go since they have supported our vision of promoting talents in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. The additional prize money will truly inspire both Basilan and KCS to do their best and put on a show,” added league Chief Operations Officer Rocky Chan.

In both the Visayas and Mindanao legs, Chooks-to-Go gave P500,000 to the winners of the stops and P100,000 to the second-placers.

The Peace Riders of Basilan are heading into the Southern Finals unbeaten in 10 outings.

Mandaue, meanwhile, will not have Finals MVP Ping Exciminiano, All-Visayas team member Gryann Mendoza, and Al Francis Tamsi in the Southern Finals.

“It does not matter who wins the championship. In our hearts, they are all champions inspiring their respective basketball fans in the Visayas and Mindanao,” said Mascariñas.
