CEBU CITY, Philippines— A gown that wowed the international pageant stage was made by a senior high school student from Bataan.
Miss Supranational Philippines Dindi Pajares won first runner-up during the pageant’s Miss Elegance competition where all the candidates were asked to walk in their chosen evening gowns.
Pajares wore a pink gown, with a slit during the competition that earned her the first runner-up spot.
In her Instagram post, Saturday, August 14, she shared a quick story behind her gown.
“This gown has a very humbling story.
Despite constraints in resources, Angeiline Texon @bespokeangeiline, a senior high school designer from Bataan, province of the Philippines, was able to make this work of art come to life. This was made only for two (2) days, shortly before I left for Poland, using a sewing machine donated by the government ( 4P’s -Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) to the poor constituents,” she wrote.
Pajares said that with this tremendous feat, it warms her heart to know that she has brought this work of art in the international scene.
The Miss Supranational coronation will be on August 22 in Poland.
Pajares aims to bring home the second Miss Supranational crown of the country.
