Teenage mom kills self after losing son, home
A series of unfortunate events led an 18-year old mother to hang herself at a house she stayed in at Lapu-lapu City last Wednesday afternoon.
Akiera Mae Patalinghug’s son died after a lingering illness before supertyphoon swept away their home in Ormoc City.
Patalinghug and her live-in partner stayed in a relative’s home in Lapu-lapu City after the typhoon.
Patalinghug’s aunt Carmelita Tampus said Akiera and her live-in partner had been arguing for days.
Akiera opposed her live-in partner’s wish to look for his relatives in Mandaue City and threatened to kill herself if he did.
Tampus said she found Patalinghug hanging dead inside their home a few hours later.
