A commotion ensued when police implemented an order to vacate the old Minglanilla Public Market at 3 a.m. yesterday. Six vendors were arrested.

Around 20 vendors insisted on occupying Ward II of the old market despite an executive order for them to vacate the place and transfer to the new public market.

PO1 Clyde Andales was wounded in his right finger during the commotion.

The vendors, now detained at the police station, were charged with direct assault and disobedience to an agent of a person in authority.

The order to vacate the area was given last August 28. Vendors were given five days to move out.

Arrested were Shervie delos Reyes, 35; Peter Simon Francis Jardinico, 49, a member of Franciscan Friar Charity; Rocky Plarisan, 23; Herman Lucero, 42; Archie Bajo, 41, and Rey Praya, 37.
