The Cebu City government hopes to employ more city residents and those from neighboring cities with last Friday’s launch of its newest online job portal.

“We are happy that there is another way in helping our constituents in applying for jobs,” said Cebu City Councilor Sisinio Andales, chairman of the Committee of Labor and Employment, on behalf of Mayor Michael Rama, who is out of the country.

The job portal called cebu.itrabaho.com is made possible with the partnership between the Cebu City government, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of Manpower Development and Placement and iTrabaho and Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology or Cedfit.

“It is the perfect avenue and makes job hunting super easy using SMS and FB which are very popular with the young Filipino population,” said Wilfredo Sa-a Cedfit’s managing director.

Andales said that applicants from other places like Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Talisay City can also apply using Cebu City’s cebu.itrabaho.com.
