GAWAD LISTAHANAN: DSWD urges partner LGUs to vie for awards
The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD 7) is inviting the local government units (LGUs) in the region to participate in the 1st Gawad Listahanan or Data Utilization Awards.
The Gawad Listahanan recognizes LGUs that provide services and assistance to the poor families identified under the department’s Listahanan or National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction.
“As DSWD leads other agencies in developing, complementary programs and strategies to protect the poor and to increase opportunities for uplifting their conditions, we also consider social protection and poverty reduction as a shared responsibility,” DSWD Regional Director Mercedita Jabagat said.
Participating LGUs must be active partners of the DSWD in Listahanan data sharing, have funded and implemented a social protection program that provides interventions to the beneficiaries, such as scholarships, medical assistance and livelihood trainings.
Application forms can be downloaded from the DSWD 7 website.
Filled-up application forms as well as the write-up for the entry must be submitted on or before Oct. 24.
The awarding ceremony will be on January 2015 during the DSWD anniversary.
