Bar exam advisory Examinees asked to bring along see-through bags

By: Inquirer October 03,2014 - 05:51 PM

The Supreme Court is requiring bar examinees this month to place their belongings in transparent or see-through bags for their own safety and to expedite entry to the test venue.

“All the examinees should place their books, bar materials, pens, food, water and other personal items inside transparent or see-through bags, clear zip-lock bags, pouches, lunch boxes, clear water containers and other similar containers,” Justice Diosdado Peralta, bar exam committee chair, said in a memo released by the high tribunal’s Public Information Office on Wednesday.

Peralta said this would speed up the inspection of bags and personal belongings to ensure the safety of both examiners and bar personnel. A total of 6,344 law graduates will be taking this year’s exams at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila on Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Liquor ban

The Supreme Court also advised them of Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada’s Aug. 27 order for the police to enforce a liquor ban from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. inside UST and in areas around the campus within a 200-meter radius. Drinkers face a fine of P200,000 and jail time of up to six months, while store owners could have their business permits revoked. /INQUIRER
