Mandaue trike drivers haul LTO worker to Ombud

Five tricycle drivers in Mandaue City accused a supply officer of the Land Transportation Office (LTO)  Mandaue Licensing Center of refusing to release their certificates of registration.

The National Confederation of Tricycle Drivers and Operators Association in the Philippines (Nactodap) Mandaue Chapter filed a complaint at the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas in behalf of the drivers. They also sent a letter to the LTO regional office accusing supply officer  Cynthia Duterte of  grave abuse of authority and conduct unbecoming of a government employee.

Jobert Nemenzo, president of Nactodap Mandaue chapter, told LTO-7 Director Arnel Tancinco last Friday that Duterte refused to release their certificates of registration (CR) and official receipts (OR) for unknown reasons.

Nemenzo said that Duterte, who was already asked to explain her action, has yet to  reply.

“Nakakita mi sa computer nga for release na ang mga OR ug CR niadtong Sept. 12, unya ni-usa ka bulan na wala gihapon niya gi-release bisan pa sa among pag follow-up.” (We saw on the  computer that she should have released our OR/CR last Sept. 12, but more than a month has passed and she still refuses to release them despite our constant follow-ups.)

As a result, the drivers were not able to ply their routes.
