Hotel, Resort, and Restaurant Association of Cebu, Inc. (HRRACI) with its president Alfred Reyes will spearhead the very first Cebu Tourism & Hospitality Awards that recognizes employees and establishments in Cebu’s growing tourism and hospitality industry.
The hospitality industry was one of the industries that were extremely vulnerable during the onset of the pandemic. Hospitality workers lost their jobs, were forced to move to other industries, and even left the city for greener pastures due to the health crisis.

This award-giving body, composed of the key players in the Cebu hospitality industry, recognizes and boosts morale of outstanding workers who have remained strong in difficult times, never faltered, and never surrendered. Those who demonstrated excellence in their respective areas of responsibility and contributed significantly to the property, community, and nation as a whole.
“Cebu Tourism and Hospitality awards are given to leaders and associates in hotels, resorts, and restaurants, suppliers, and even in the academe who continue to thrive amid the ongoing worldwide pandemic,” explains HRRACI president Alfred Reyes. “They are the heroes who have shown remarkable commitment to the tourism and hospitality industry and offered genuine support to ease the huge stress caused by this crisis,” says Reyes.
The awards to be given are the following: Individual awards in the Front-of-the-House category, Back-of-the-House category, Supervisor Category, Hotel & Resort Manager Category, and Hospitality/Tourism Instructor Category.
Special and Institutional awards are also given such as the Business Excellence Award-Restaurant Category, Allied Company Category, Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Category, and the Responsible Tourism Awards. The set of jurors for this award is also promising as HRRACI invites tourism business key players and leaders.
Nominations are still open, so if you know a friend or a relative, or a tourism business who demonstrates these values, this is for you. Nomination is open to all Department of Tourism certified businesses, including members and non-members of HRRACI. Chosen winners will receive a plaque of recognition during the awards gala night.

The nominees shall fill out the nomination form and submit the following documentary requirements; Recent Curriculum Vitae, a 2 x 2 Photo (with white background, in property uniform), a portrait photo ( in property uniform, high-resolution), whole body photo with prescribed property uniform (high-resolution), whole body photo in business attire, white background (high-resolution) and the Official Receipt of Nomination Fees.
