CEBU CITY, Philippines—Former World Boxing Association (WBA) world minimumweight champion Vic “Vicious” Saludar takes on Ariston Aton for the Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) minimumweight title in the main event of “Rumble in Naga” on December 21, 2022, at the Enan Chiong Activity Center in the City of Naga, south Cebu.

The 32-year-old Saludar of Polomolok, South Cotabato is looking to arrest a two-match skid, which includes a loss to Erick Sosa for his WBA world minimumweight title in Dominican Republic last December 21, 2021.

Nonetheless, Saludar remains the No. 6 contender in the WBA’s minimumweight division. Thus, a win in against Aton could possibly bolster his bid to regain the world title.

Saludar has a more experienced record of 21 wins (11 by knockouts) and six defeats, while the 22-year-old Aton sports a record of 9-5 (win-loss) with five knockout wins.

The Saludar vs. Aton bout is scheduled for 10 rounds.

A total of 10 bouts will be featured in this fight card co-promoted by the city government of Naga, Championship Development Boxing of the Philippines, Prime Stag Sports Promotions, and Butlig Promotions.

The rest of the fight card pits Speedy Boy Acope vs Jhonrey Lauza Domingag, Michael Adolfo vs. Anthony Galigao, Johnro Taneo vs Marlon Alejandro, Jeson Mopon vs. Grant Elorza, Cherwellan Cantel vs Mark Anthony Rotilles, Jakeson Saludar vs. Jimpaul Dignos, Raffie Jamero vs. Joebert Dacullo, George Sedilio vs. Dondi Lariosa Janonillo, and Keir Toregosa vs. Henry Flor.
