University of Cebu, AG&P offer greater opportunities to students through PROJECT ASPIRE

In line with the mission to give hope and transform lives, the University of Cebu and the Asia Gulf & Pacific (AG&P, an integrated industrial process outsourcing leader and one of the world’s leading load engineering and heavy-lift companies) had forged a partnership earlier this year through Project Aspire – a Study Grant Technical Program offering students a Certificate in Steel Fabrication Technology.

Over 50 pioneering students had availed of the grant with 48 of them on their last term for the six-month training period in-campus after which the students will proceed to the AG&P plant in Batangas for a six-month extensive on-the-job-training in Welding Specialization. Successful completion by the student-trainee of Module 3 may qualify him/her to apply as an employee of AG&P.

All students undergoing the program will have to take TESDA NC Qualifying examination to earn TESDA Certificate, which may be useful especially if they intend to work abroad.

UC is now accepting applicants for the second batch of students. Qualifications that include a minimum general average grade of 80 percent for students above 17 to 22 years old, male or female have to be met prior to undergoing examinations. Upon acceptance to the program, a student shall be granted by AG&P a “Study Loan Fund” which will cover for the board and lodging in UC, uniform, books and other materials related to the student’s 6-month stay at the University of Cebu.

Interested applicants can call the University of Cebu Guidance Offices in the Main campus +6332-255-7777 and in the METC campus +6332-262-8888.
