Micro-entrepreneurs affected by Yolanda in northern Cebu regain livelihood

A total of 382 micro-entrepreneurs affected by typhoon Yolanda in Bogo City and the towns of Medellin, San Remegio and Daan Bantayan in northern Cebu were given assistance by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to regain their livelihood.

The DTI distributed P5,000 worth of goods or livelihood starter kits to the beneficiaries from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) last Wednesday at the Bogo Sports Complex.

The activity is part of the Livelihood Seeding Program, a post disaster response of DTI after super typhoon Yolanda struck northern Cebu on Nov. 8, 2013.

Another batch of livelihood starter kits will be distributed today to the 240 beneficiaries from Sta Fe., Bantayan and Madridejos at the Sta. Fe Sports Complex in Bantayan Island.

Starter kits will also be given to the 191 beneficiaries from Sogod, Borbon, Tabogon, Tabuelan and Tuburan at the Sogod Municipal Hall on Monday, and to the 187 beneficiaries from Poro, San Francisco, Tudela and Pilar in Camotes Island on Tuesday.

All LSP beneficiaries have participated in a retail trade management seminar conducted by DTI to provide micro entrepreneurs a comprehensive understanding on business management.
