Four houses were destroyed by a fire in sitio Riverside, barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City at 11:30 a.m. Monday.
The fire started in one of the houses located within the three-meter easement of Guadalupe River and was put out by firefighters 30 minutes later.
Barangay Capitol Site chairman Manuel Guanzon said they are still determining the number of displaced persons. Residents had to help firefighters train their hoses since narrow access roads made it difficult to reach the area.
Some of the firefighters had to go to the elevated nearby Chinese temple to aim their hoses on the fire while some hosed down the fire from the other side of the Guadalupe river.
