Green restrooms and Tourism Information Centers will soon be built in selected areas in Cebu following an agreement signed between five Cebu mayors and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) last Saturday. TIEZA chief Mark Lapid signed the agreement with Argao Mayor Edcel Galeos, Daanbantayan Mayor Augusto Corro, Moalboal Mayor Inocentes Cabaron and Sogod Mayor Lisa Durano and Cebu City Tourism Officer Ana Quisumbing representing Mayor Michael Rama. The agreement was also signed by representatives of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The two projects are in support of the national government’s Road Enhancing Softscapes for Tourism (REST) in key tourist destination areas that will be visited by delegates during the Asia Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) 2015. TIEZA will build 20 TICs and 28 green restrooms in areas identified by the regional DOT offices. The Tourist information Centers (TICs) will adopt regional architectural designs but all will have the same interior lay out. Related Stories: Tour body to launch tweaked tourism campaign
