Batch 2007 routs foe

WITH four players scoring in double figures, Batch 2007-Chef Chang had less trouble disposing of Batch ‘86/‘90s/2000, 72-51, last Thursday night in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.

Raymark Ong banged in a team-high 16 points, Juan Carlos Espada nailed 14 markers, Alejandro Bayer Jr. pitched in 12, while Howard Haw posted 10 markers as Batch 2007 quickly put the game away after surging to a 35-18 lead at the half.

Paolo Revil failed to score a single point but gave valuable contributions to Batch 2007 after he finished with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Aljhune paced the losing team with a game-high 24 points, while Randy Sypongco contributed 12 points and seven rebounds.

In the other game, Gregorio Aguilar came away with a solid double-double performance and led Batch 1988-Dewfoam to a 58-48 win over Batch 1998/Kaking.

Aguilar finished with 16 points and 18 rebounds and was ably backed by Robert Lim and Ricky Yu, who contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Elvis Evangelista had his own strong double-double game with 15 points and 16 rebounds but couldn’t save Batch 1998, which was limited to just five points in the first period and started at a 17-29 deficit at the turn.
Paul So scored 11 points and Santos Chua added 10 for Batch 1998.
