Capitol asks CA to stop officer’s reinstatement

The Provincial Legal Office filed a motion before the Court of Appeals to reconsider the reinstatement of Marivic Garces as Provincial Social Welfare Development Officer (PSWDO).

Orvi Ortega, Provincial Legal Officer said there is no need to implement the Civil Service Commission’s order promulgated on January 13, 2015 restoring Garces as PSWDO.

He said Garces was already reassigned to the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) after the term of former governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

Garces served as the PSWDO since June 20, 2006 but she was replaced when Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale assumed as governor while Garcia served her suspension.

Garces filed an appeal before the CSC saying she was “illegally reassigned” by Magpale./Correspondent Melissa Q. Cabahug
