CEBU CITY, Philippines — Tuburan 360 Coffee is now 2-0 in the team standings of the 2023 Balamban Fiesta Cup Inter-commercial league after eking out a hard-fought win against K and L Marketing-Naga City, 110-108, on Wednesday evening, September 13, 2023, at the Mayor Exasperanza Binghay Memorial Sports Complex in Balamban, midwestern Cebu.

Pacsoy Oropiano led Tuburan with 22 points from his 9-of-13 shooting, nine of which came from the three-point line. He paired it with four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Melvin Butuan added 18 while Cesafi men’s basketball finals MVP Jiesel Tarrosa contributed 14 markers while Gerard Viajar had 11 points.

Jayson Balabag had an incredible 46-point outing. Kyle Ruedas scored 15 while Ian Ortega and AJ Sacayan each had 14 points, and Gladz Ygay chipped in 12 markers in their losing efforts.

Tuburan was ahead 18 points, 81-63, in the final period, but K&L headed by Balabag made a huge comeback when they cut the deficit to five, 105-110, with 31 seconds left in the game.

K&L managed to further cut the deficit to two after Ortega nailed a crucial three-point shot with 13 ticks left in the game.

K&L had all the chances to tie the game or perhaps earn the lead after Tuburan suffered a crucial turnover in the last sequence of the game.

However, Tuburan of head coach Fred Diamante remained composed despite K&L’s resurgence in the final period to secure their second straight win in the competition.

Tuburan will face AC Troopers/Eversure Catmon on Friday, Sept. 15, in a much-anticipated battle of unbeaten teams.

AC Troopers improved their unbeaten record to 3-0 (win-loss) after beating Good Shepherd Toledo City, 85-79.

Charles Pepito led AC Troopers with his 20-point game while Gileant Delator aided him with 15 markers. Bigman Jonel Bonganciso added 14 points.

Joshua Dela Cerna scored 23 and Luigi Gabisan had 22 points in Good Shepherd’s loss.
