No more fees for using CRs in Cebu bus terminals
CEBU CITY, Philippines – Good news for passengers heading to bus terminals here in Cebu.
They will no longer have to pay a P5 fee for using the comfort or restrooms there.
The Cebu Provincial Government announced that they will no longer ask passengers for fees for using restrooms in the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) and Cebu North Bus Terminal (CNBT).
These were among the changes Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia wanted to introduce in the province-owned passenger terminals, as reported by Sugbo News, the Capitol’s media arm.
Garcia on Wednesday, September 20, signed Memorandum No. 27-2023 that effectively rolled out new policies for the CSBT and CNBT as well as installing new members of the terminals’ management.
The governor’s new memo appointed Rodenita Esgana as the new manager of both CSBT and CNBT. Esgana is currently the officer-in-charge of the Provincial General Services Office.
Memorandum No. 27-2023 also tasked Esgana with coming up with a consolidated report on the conditions of the facilities in the two terminals, particularly those in need of repair.
Aside from revoking fees for the use of restrooms, the Capitol also revealed its plan to put air-conditioning systems in the entire CSBT.
The bus terminals have been among the provincial government’s top sources of revenue. In 2022, CSBT alone raked in more than P55 million in income. / dcb
