By: Rene Alima March 15,2015 - 12:22 AM

accidentA BOY died after he was run over by a speeding truck  past noon last Friday the 13th in barangay Poog, Toledo City.

Gambert Rosalita, 6, suffered severe head trauma and fractured bones  after the Isuzu Elf driven by Ramon Villaro, 29, ran over  him. The boy was a kindergarten honor student in a private school in Toledo city.

The driver was heading to Aloguinsan town to deliver construction materials for a  project there.

PO2 Junard Cinco of the Toledo City Police Station said the boy was asked by his grandfather to buy softdrinks at  the store across the street from their house.

Gambert’s mother Angelita helped him cross the street to the store.

But when  he walked back, he crossed the street by himself.

Police said Gambert may have been  hidden from view because he  crossed the street in front of a  Multicab parked by the road.

The Elf driver surrendered to a military camp near the area after the incident.

He was released yesterday after the boy’s parents agreed to an amicable settlement.

The driver agreed to shoulder the burial expenses and give some financial assistance to the  grieving family.
