SHAABAA Season 26: Pivotal semifinal matches unfold tomorrow
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Six exciting matches will highlight the pivotal semifinal round of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 26 tomorrow, Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City.
In Division A, the defending champions, Core Pacific Money Exchange-Batch 2000 and the ARQ-Batch 2001 will try to force a rubber match in their respective best-of-three semifinal series.
Batch 2000-Batch 1990/1997 rubber match
Batch 2000 have their backs against the wall as Bayfront Hotel-Batch 1990/1997 grabbed game one of their best-of-three semifinals series, 49-53, last September 24, but tomorrow, they have a chance to tie the series and force a do-or-die game three.
Meanwhile, Speed Demon Vivant-Batch 1994/1995/1996 is a win away from clinching a finals berth in Division A after beating Batch 2001 last September 24, 66-49, and will face the latter tomorrow in the other Division A semifinals duel.
Also, Division B’s Efficascent Boost-BRC-Batch 2010 is a victory away from advancing to the finals after winning over ’04 The Win-Batch 2004, 57-41, on September 24. The game two of their best-of-three semifinals is also scheduled for tomorrow.
Division B semis
In the other Division B semifinals, the defending champions, Cebu Landmasters-Batch 2003 eyes to sweep their semis series against Puresteel Manufacturing Corporation-Batch 2011 after grabbing game one last September 24.
On the other hand, Division C defending champions, Heritage Supreme Land Developer-Batch 2012 and the Harley Davidson-Batch 2014 will square off in the deciding game three of their semifinal series tomorrow.
Both teams tied the series 1-1, after Batch 2014 defeated Batch 2012 in game 2 last September 24, 75-70.
Division c semis
In the other Division C semifinal match, Nest Workspaces-Batch 2013 guns for a sweep against Batch 2021 after snatching game one last September 24 also.
Games start at 1:30 PM featuring Division A semifinal games followed by Division B games at 3:00 PM, and Division C matches at 4:30 PM.
