A fire razed a two storey-house at Purok 5, barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City at 12:35 p.m. last Saturday.

The Cebu City Fire Station said they put out the fire 10 minutes after. F03 Geoffrey Solon, fire investigator said the fire came from one of the rooms at the second floor of the house owned by Barbara Donaldo.

Donaldo said nobody was inside her house when the fire broke out. Solon said electrical misuse might have caused the fire. Barbara’s 51-year-old son Renato was injured after trying to stop the fire at the second floor of their house.

He sustained first degree burns at his nape and at the back part of his body and wounds on his right arm.

The house has six rooms, two at the ground floor and four rooms upstairs. Two of the four rooms upstairs were leased by two boarders.

Rebecca Candia, one of the boarders of Donaldo for 11 years said her only appliance is a TV set which she is sure that she was able to unplug before leaving the room. Damages were pegged at P5,000.
