BATCH 1998-Kaking arrested a four-game slide while Batch 2003- Dimsum Frito continued to sputter as the former eked out a 67-64 win in a duel of struggling teams last Thursday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Elvis Evangelista, Rex Millan and Robinson Yap all scored in double figures to lead Batch 1998’s win, its second in six games.
Evangelista finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, Millan tallied 17 points, while Yap had 12 markers and seven boards.
Calvin Ang nailed 16 points, Jim Paul Yanke had 12 points and Stephen Delit came away with 10 markers but Batch 2003 still couldn’t end a long drought as it remained winless after seven games.
In the other game, Batch 2007-Chef Chang listed its fourth win in six outings with an easy 70-40 victory over Batch 2006-1st ACY Shipping Corp./Cebu Regal Pension House.
Juan Carlo Espada, Howard Haw and Raymark Ong spearheaded Batch 2007’s 30-point beating as they netted 18, 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Ralph Yap finished with 14 points to pace Batch 2006, which slid to 1-6 (win-loss).
