2 ‘hired guns’ charged for botched murder plot
COMPLAINTS FOR attempted murder were filed against the two men who were allegedly hired to kill a barangay captain in Cebu City last Wednesday.
Charles Garces was brought to the Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office for inquest proceedings yesterday.
The other suspect, Froilan Orlanez, has been placed under hospital arrest while recuperating from a gunshot wound sustained during a shootout with the bodyguards of Babag barangay captain Cesar Dolorito.
Garces and Orlanez, both residents of barangay Tinago, Cebu City, were arrested by police after their getaway motorcycle hit a car while they were trying to escape.
Garces, in an interview, said they were hired by two persons to kill the barangay captain.
“Napugos ra gyud mi ana (We were just forced to do it),” he said.
