Transport terminals beef up security

Senior Supt. Mariano Batiancela, acting police chief of Cebu City Police Office led the inspection of terminals and ports  yesterday.

He said he is deploying more police personnel as travellers continue to flock to transportation terminals for the Holy Week break through Easter Sunday when pilgrims and vacationists return to the city.

Ramon Dumayac Jr., manager of Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) told the media that they have deployed around 90 blue guards to ensure the safety of properties and passengers.

At the Cebu City seaport, Insp. Preya Athena Gestopa, officer-in-charge of passenger terminal station said they are on heightened alert until April 7.
