POLICE uprooted 18,682 stalks of fully grown marijuana plants worth at least P4 million  in a mountain barangay in Balamban town, midwest Cebu.

The marijuana plants were planted along with corn and vegetables in a hilly area in barangay Bayong, said Senior Insp. Florendo Laudie Pajardo.

No one was arrested.

Persons  believed to be the cultivators fled just before the police arrived  around 5 a.m. Friday.

A tip from some residents led to the discovery of the marijuana farm, police said.
