By: Rene Alima April 10,2015 - 11:45 PM

A 39-YEAR-OLD farmer was killed while his father was wounded after two still-unidentified gunmen waylaid them in barangay Mabunaw,  Tabuelan town, northern Cebu.

Police identified the fatality as Edgardo Mantos, who succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and chest. His father  Pacito, 62, was shot in the arm.

The two farmers were repacking charcoal when two bonnet-wearing men shot them using .45 caliber pistols, said Senior Insp. Welther Grapa, chief of the Tabuelan Police Station.

Pacito was able to run  away and seek  help from some residents.

Police said conflict over a land dispute could be the motive of the attack.
