DOH records three malaria cases in Negros Oriental

The Department of Health said they recorded three malaria cases in Central Visayas from January to March this year.

Medical technologist Crestita Gloria said three indigenous malaria cases were recorded at sitio Avocado, barangay Talalak, Sta. Catalina town in Negros Oriental.

Gloria said the DOH distributed mosquito nets in Negros Oriental and tapped private organizations to help in the prevention of malaria.

The town of Roxas, Palawan records the most number of malaria cases in the country with 1,000 cases a month. May 8 is World Malaria Day.
